a private excerpt from Flecks of Gold: A Year of Living Artfully—reserved for the Velvet Underground
Greetings, dear friend and fellow creative provocateur,
It’s been quiet here. I disappeared for a bit. Not because I haven’t been thinking about you, or because I forgot you, or lost my way creatively, but because I was inside the process, putting the finishing touches on my upcoming book, a lyrical memoir titled Flecks of Gold: A Year of Living Artfully. To finish it, I desperately needed to go dark. Thank you for your patience while I went underground.
Flecks of Gold is a lyrical memoir that traces my lived experience of committing to a year of Living Artfully across the four seasons of 2025. It’s written in stanzas rather than traditional prose, blending memoir, reflection, and poetic inquiry. The book offers an intimate look at how a creative philosophy is practiced in real time. Its structure mirrors the natural rhythm of a year, divided into four seasonal sections, each representing a phase of personal and creative evolution. Across these seasons are 24 entries, each functioning as a moment-in-time reflection rather than a linear narrative. Together, they form a mosaic of insight, pattern, and growth.
